This tutorial shows how to add watermark on PDF. A watermark is a semi-transparent image that shows who made a document or image by showing a logo or seal. If you want to add a watermark to a PDF file, you can either add the watermark directly to the PDF or make a file with a watermark in another program and then convert it to a PDF.
For example, you can use Adobe Photoshop to add a watermark to an image file, Microsoft Word to add a watermark to a word processing document, or a watermark app to add a watermark to different types of files. You can also use watermarks to keep private information safe.
If you want to add a watermark to a PDF file, you can either add it directly to the PDF or use a PDF watermark creator to make a file that you can then use in a PDF. You can also go to the official Microsoft support site to know more information about this.
How to add watermark on PDF
Adding a watermark to a document may seem like a difficult task, but with Power PDF, you can do it in just a few steps.
- You can open the watermark panel by clicking on the tool that came before it or by right-clicking on an empty space in the panel bar. When you click “create,” the “Create Watermark” box comes up. Then you can change how the watermark looks before putting a title in the Title box.
- In the “Type” drop-down menu, you must choose either “Text,” “Image,” or “Composite.”
- Text: Type the text for the watermark in the text field under “Properties,” and then choose to add “Macros” like Date/Time or Page Number, among others. Here, you can change how the text looks and accurately “Position” the watermark. Remember that two pages next to each other will have watermarks that face each other.
- Image: Use the next panel to look for an image on your computer or an external drive. When you’ve made your choice, click “OK,” and then set the image watermark properties. When you’re ready to use an image as a watermark, set its position as described above.
- Composite: To make a composite option, you can choose from the text and image watermarks that are already there. Click the “Add” button after you choose a name. Positioning is the last step, and then you’re done.
- To set your watermark, click the “Ok” button.
What Are Watermarks?
Watermarks are words, phrases, or pictures that show who owns something, keep it private, or show its status. Most watermarks are clear enough so that you can see text or images under or above them. A watermark is a logo, some text, or a pattern that is put on top of another image on purpose.
Its goal is to make it harder for people to copy or use the original picture without permission. A company or website that sells digital images will often put a watermark on low-resolution copies of the images so that the user can see what they look like. If the user buys the image, the company gives them a high-resolution copy that doesn’t have the watermark on it.
