OnePlus has historically had two major releases per year, one in the spring and another in the fall, but it skipped the fall release last year, so we did not receive the “T” model with enhanced specifications. The reason for this is that OnePlus is changing: it is merging more closely with its parent phone manufacturer, Oppo, and now, after a lengthy wait, the first flagship phone under this new collaboration is available and… it’s striking!
This is the OnePlus 10 Pro, a 6.7-inch flagship phone with a brand-new design that took some photography influence from the Galaxy S21 series, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. This phone adheres to the OnePlus principles that made the brand famous, with clean software that feels tremendously nimble, perhaps the industry’s quickest fingerprint sensor, a top-tier chipset, and charging speeds that leave Samsung and Apple in the dust. When combined with the aggressive price of $899, it appears that you are in for a treat.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]The aluminium frame has a glossy finish in the same green hue as the back of the phone. The combination of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the back, Gorilla Glass Victus for the display, and a ceramic coating on the camera module should make this phone scratch-resistant even if you don’t use a case.
The OnePlus 10 Pro 5G is thinner (8.55mm) than its predecessor, but heavier (201g). This phone lacks expandable storage and a headphone jack, but it can accommodate two nano-SIM cards. The display on the 10 Pro 5G is the same size as the display on the 9 Pro and features the same QHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colour depth, and HDR, colour accuracy, and reduced blue-light emissions certifications.
The AMOLED display on the OnePlus 9 Pro is a large and immersive 6.7-inch panel with a QHD resolution. The customer popularity of OnePlus OxygenOS is extraordinary. The majority of us enjoyed it until OnePlus chose to ruin it by synchronising it with ColorOS. Following the outcry, the brand has attempted to change its course, but this is an ongoing process. The OnePlus 10 Pro ships with version 12.1 of the Oxygen OS. The skin includes just useful applications, thus there is no glance integration, trendy app store, or spamming browser.
The cameras on the OnePlus 10 Pro are similar to those on the OnePlus 9 Pro. The primary 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor and the 8MP OmniVision OV08A10 telephoto sensor on the OnePlus 9 Pro are identical. A 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor with a 150-degree field of view is also included. Regarding battery life, the OnePlus 10 Pro features a dual-cell battery with a total capacity of 5000mAh. Compared to OnePlus’s previous flagship, the 10 Pro is equipped with a larger battery and provides longer battery life. However, when it comes to charging, OnePlus includes an 80W wired charger with the phone that provides lightning-fast charging.
