The Pixel 6A is the smallest of the three phones in the 6 series, but perhaps the most accurate way to characterise it is as the phone with the least amount of excess space. The screen on the Pixel 6A seems laughably little when compared to the 6.7-inch display on the Pixel 6 Pro and the 6.4-inch display on the Pixel 6. I believe that its 6.1-inch screen is the finest compromise between a little (read: decently sized) phone and the big phones that everyone else seems to want, but that’s just my own particular hill to die on, so don’t shoot me if you disagree.
The screen on the 6A is an OLED panel with a normal refresh rate of 60Hz, which is a step down from the screen on the 6 which had a 90Hz refresh rate. After spending some time with a 120Hz panel, the transition to a screen with a 60Hz refresh rate is definitely noticeable to me. If I didn’t have the quicker refresh rate to compare it against, I’d never notice that the motion on the phone seems jerkier and that it creates the impression that the phone isn’t as smooth as it could be.

Where to get Google Pixel 6a?
It should come as no surprise that the Pixel 6 shot the most impressive photo of the bunch. Even though it has a smaller pixel count than the Pixel 6A and a narrower depth of field, the image captured by Google’s more affordable phone nevertheless contains a significant amount of detail. The photo taken with the Pixel 6A may be a little darker than the one taken by Samsung, but it also has more detail, whilst the shot taken by Samsung appears to be rather blown out and oversaturated.
As can be seen in the examples below, the Pixel 6A took excellent pictures of people when they were captured inside. However, the camera of the Pixel 6 was marginally better at depicting skin tones. The subject’s face in the photograph taken by the Pixel 6A appears to be slightly lighter in colour. The Samsung Galaxy A53 performed adequately, although the colours it produced were not quite as realistic as they may have been.
In the photograph taken by Samsung, the lace that is located towards the top of the subject’s garment appears a shade of blue, but in reality, it is supposed to be black. When examining each photograph at its full size on a monitor with a 27-inch screen, I was able to spot these disparities, even though they might be difficult to spot at this scale.
