Look, it’s hard to criticise a plan that works well. And the earhook style of the Epic Air Sport ANC works. Its design isn’t as popular as the simple earplug style of standard true wireless earbuds like the Epic Air ANC, and it’s also heavier (10 grammes per bud compared to 8 grammes for the Epic Air). But once you hook them around your ears, they stay there. Long cardio workouts and gym sessions for more than a week have shown that. Even though they aren’t as pretty, they are the best design if keeping the buds in place is the most important thing, like when you’re working out.

But there were a few times when the Epic Air Sport ANC didn’t register the right number of touches, but for the most part, they were very fast. With these controls, you can change the volume, the track, turn on the smart assistant, set the equaliser, adjust the amount of active noise cancellation, and manage phone calls. That’s a lot of settings for a pair of earbuds for $100, and they all work.
The features are what give the Epic Air Sport ANC its value. Almost everything about these buds goes beyond what we thought was possible in this price range before. Honestly, if we only looked at features, it wouldn’t be fair for other buds to have to try to compete with the Epic Air Sport ANC when they are so good and so cheap.
First, let’s talk about battery life. The Epic Air Sport ANC headphones are rated to last 15 hours per charge without ANC and an additional 55 hours (!) in the charging case. Playback time drops to 11 hours when ANC is turned on. They also have a quick-charge function that gives you an hour of playback after 15 minutes in the case. The Epic Air ANC has eight hours with ANC on and 12 hours without it.
