How to use TikTok on a PC using a browser – Guide

Using TikTok on a PC has been a daunting task for months. We had no choice but to use weird desktop apps or try to enforce solutions with Android emulators, but that era is over.

TikTok has officially released a PC TikTok software that can be used directly in the browser. The functionality is basically the same as in the mobile version, although you’ll have to get used to the desktop layout, which can be a little confusing at first. Some features are also disabled, but for desktop users it’s a great place to start.

How to use the TikTok website

  • You can easily browse TikTok videos directly from the desktop browser on your PC. Just go to any browser on your computer and type the URL ‘tiktok.com’ into the search bar. When the URL loads, you will see the website’s landing page.
  • You can immediately start scrolling through the videos on the landing page. You can even watch videos without logging in. Videos popular in your region will be shown automatically up.
  • If you want to log into your TikTok account, click Login in the upper right corner of the web page. If you don’t have an account, you can subscribe up using the link at the bottom of the login page.
  • After logging in, you will be redirected to the home page.
  • On the left-hand side, you’ll see For You, Following, Suggested Accounts, and Your Top Accounts.
  • The For You tab shows you videos recommended by TikTok for you, depending on your preference and the accounts you follow. You can see the people you follow and their videos by clicking the Following tab. Suggested accounts are recommended users that you should follow. On the first editing screen, you can crop, rotate and adjust the speed of your video. On the next editing screen, you can add stickers, effects, filters, text, sounds and narrations. After finishing editing, describe your video and adjust your privacy settings. You can switch on duets, points and reactions.

    Installing TikTok application on Mac is not as simple as installing it on a PC. If you don’t install BlueStacks emulator correctly on your Mac, it may crash your computer. To avoid problems, you need to shut down other applications before installing the software.

    Here are the steps to install BlueStacks on Mac.

  • Go to the BlueStacks website and download the .dmg file to your system.
  • Go to the folder where the BlueStacks installer is located. Locate the installer dmg. file and double-click it to start the installation process.
  • Once the installer window opens, double click the BlueStacks icon to start the installation.

    • Tip: Before starting the installation, a system extension lock message may appear on the screen. To clear this, tap Open Security Preferences and click Allow button. The BlueStacks emulator will then be installed on your Mac.

    After installing the BlueStacks emulator, the TikTok application download process is the same as on the PC. If you don’t have a Google Play account, you’ll need to create one.
