what we saw when we looked at the Aurora R11, which was fancier. With its Core i9-10900K CPU and GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card, the R11 was a great gaming laptop. However, some power users may want a few more cores in a machine at that price for tasks like making content, streaming games, and so on. Still, there are some problems with the Aurora lineup. Because Dell needs to re-engineer the thermal solution, it will have an effect on how the system sounds. When running long, sustained multi-threaded tasks, some high-end processors can’t be cooled enough by a single 120mm radiator, or at least not with the airflow that their smaller fans provide.
Also, when the Aurora R10 is under a lot of stress, its fans can get loud. Having said that, the Alienware Aurora family is a platform that can do a lot of things. It’s helpful to find a configuration that works well for your needs, just like when you plan a do-it-yourself build. Here’s also where some readers might say that a do-it-yourself build could be a better deal, but that the current prices for parts will clearly put you several hundred dollars over budget. In short, the current state of the market makes a good pre-built system like this even more valuable.

Where to Get Dell Alienware Aurora R10?
When systems are shipped from a company, we usually test them to make sure we get the same experience right out of the box as the average buyer, but with the most recent Windows and driver updates installed. But there is one more thing to think about when it comes to the Aurora R10. The 3400MHz memory profile that the included RAM can technically support is turned off by default, so the RAM speed is only 2667MHz right out of the box. Being tied to the memory frequency makes the slower memory speed a bigger problem for Ryzen than it would be for an Intel chip.
We could use the Alienware Command Centre utility to make a profile that is otherwise default but has the faster memory speed, or we could do what we think most users would do and turn on one of the two pre-baked overclocking profiles. On the other hand, the “Auto Boost Level 1” (OC1) profile also uses a 2667MHz memory frequency. Instead, we chose the OC2 profile, which overclocks the CPU a little more to “Auto Boost Level 2” and sets the memory frequency correctly to 3400MHz. Users can make their own profile if they want to improve and speed up CPU performance even more. We should say, though, that the Aurora R10’s GPU performance can’t be changed through the Alienware Command Centre.
