Challenging Apple’s dominance, the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED is a compact 14-inch laptop that packs impressive performance. With its Intel i9 processor, it goes head-to-head with Apple’s M2 chip and offers a powerful working experience. But what makes it stand out is that it’s cheaper than Mac computers with similar features, which makes it a good choice for people who want to save money. The Zenbook 14X OLED is all about consistency.
It has a powerful CPU and a specialized GPU that does a better job than the Intel Xe graphics found in many other laptops. The Zenbook 14X OLED is a good contender for graphic design work now that it has better graphics. It can compete with some of the best laptops in that field. Overall, the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED makes a strong case for itself by providing high-performance work in a small package. Its low price and improved graphics make it a good choice for people who want a powerful but cheap laptop, especially for graphic design work.

Design and Keyboard
The Asus Zenbook 14X OLED comes in two colors, Inkwell Grey (a dark gray) and Sandstone Beige (a lighter beige). Don’t be scared off by that last term; the lighter coloring is the more intriguing choice. The beige variant is finished with a ceramic-like Plasma Ceramization coating. Indeed, it has the same rough, yet appealing under-finger and highly tactile quality as that material.Asus claims that the layer prevents fingerprints and wear and tear. Furthermore, the company claims that its halogen-free procedure results in fewer emissions than competing methods. You can buy this laptop from its official website
Asus Zenbook 14X OLED: Screen
The pictures, videos, and shows all seem amazing. It’s also a good choice for artistic endeavors like making movies and editing photos. Some devices provide stylus-compatible Gorilla Glass touchscreens, elevating the panel’s creative credential to new heights.
The lack of high dynamic range (HDR) capability is the only real drawback. Asus highlights the panel’s HDR capabilities, but while other models of this screen max out at 600 nits, our display only reached 412 nits. That’s acceptable for standard dynamic range (SDR) use inside and out, but it won’t provide any real advantages in high dynamic range (HDR).
Software and warranty
Asus is getting better at keeping its junk in check, so you only have to deal with the MyAsus app and a very pushy McAfee security package. The second one gets annoying after a few times, but it’s easy to get rid of. There are also a lot of useful things here, like the EQ controls, fan control choices, customizable ZenVision displays, and the ability to change the white balance of the screen. The ZenBook 14X OLED comes with a one-year limited guarantee so you can get help after you buy it. Check out our yearly special reports to see how Asus did.
Asus Zenbook 14X OLED: Performance
The GPU is an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050, which has 4GB of memory that is only used by it. Even though it has ray-tracing hardware built in, it’s not a top-of-the-line chip, so it won’t be great for games. But it’s enough to speed up graphically intensive jobs in Lightroom or something like Topaz Photo AI that needs a lot of GPU power.
The battery life is also great, especially when compared to the Z17, which also has an i9 processor. For our battery test, we use PC Mark 10, which mimics a busy day at the office with the screen on the whole time. In this test, the 14X worked for just over eight hours.
Asus Zenbook 14X OLED: Battery Life
The battery is the worst part of this device, though. In a video test, the 70Wh power pack lasted 11 hours and 40 minutes, but in a daily work test, it only lasted 7 hours. It’s not a disaster, but it will be hard to get through a full day of work, and Apple’s machines will last much longer. After 30 minutes of being connected, at least 40% of the battery was charged.
Price and Availability
The Zenbook 14X OLED (UX3404) has not yet made its way to stores, but we do have suggested retail prices (MSRPs), and we know that the Core i7 variant (UX3404VA) will sell for $1,199 in the United States and £1,199 in the United Kingdom.
That is a fair price. The Dell XPS 13 can be found for less money at times, with a similar configuration going for $1,099 or £1,199. Although it’s lighter than the 14X, that laptop is significantly slower and doesn’t feature an OLED display.
