Today, we’re letting you know about how to customize Facebook feed, so you can find the information that’s most important to you. Now, you can choose to see more or less of posts from people and groups you’re connected to, as well as posts that Facebook thinks you might like.
Facebook’s main purpose is to help you express yourself and connect with other people and groups. People are connecting more and more over public and relevant content, like new recipes or hikes in their area. Facebook shows you posts from creators and communities you might not know about, along with updates from your friends, Groups, and Pages.
You can read and talk about these posts. Machine learning makes sure that what you see in your Feed is unique to you and your interests. You can also go to the official Facebook support site to know more information.
ways to customize facebook feed
Hide ads or set your ad preferences on Facebook
Facebook does a great job of making ads that are relevant to you based on your search history and other things you do. But sometimes it will show ads that don’t belong in your feed. You can get rid of them to clean up your Facebook News Feed, which is good news. When you see an ad in your News Feed that doesn’t belong there more than once:
- Tap three dots from the top of the ad. (labeled sponsored)
- Tap on Hide ad from the menu. You won’t see the advertisement when surfing anymore.
- In the same menu, you may also examine why you are seeing this ad or report it if you have an issue with its content.
- Then you can take one more additional step and choose to Hide all ads from this advertiser. On the same screen, you can also Make changes to your ad preferences.
Adjust Facebook feed preferences
- Open the Facebook app on your iPhone
- Tap on Menu at the bottom right.
- Now tap on Settings icon at the top.
- Under preferences, choose News Feed.
In that area, you can change a few settings. In Favorites, you can choose 30 people or Pages whose posts you always want to see at the top of your News Feed. Here, Facebook will put your friends at the top of the Suggested list based on what you’ve been doing. Just tap the Add button next to the name of your friend. There is also a list of Pages that lets you pick which pages to show first.
You can do the same by tapping the three dots in the top right corner of the post and choosing “Add to Favorites.” You can also choose which posts don’t show up in your News Feed. Go to the section called “Unfollow” to do that. You can also get back in touch with people you stopped following.
Hide unwanted posts
You can hide a post from a Facebook page or a friend if you don’t want to see all of their updates. How? Continue.
- Click on the three dots at the top of the post you don’t like on your feed.
- From the drop-down menu, choose Hide post.
See specific News Feed
By default, Facebook’s News Feed shows you the most popular posts from your friends, pages you like, and groups you belong to. But what if you only want to know what your friends have posted?
- Click on the Menu from Facebook’s homepage. Then tap on Feeds.
- Now, on the top bar, you can see options like All, Favourites, Friends, Groups, and Pages.

Why does Facebook look different today?
If Facebook doesn’t look right in your web browser, it could be because of the cache or temporary data. If this doesn’t solve your problem, it could be because you’re using third-party browser extensions. We suggest turning off these add-ons before going back to the site.
What is the new feed button on Facebook?
