The magnesium-alloy frame and “Brushed Black” tint finish give the Zephyrus M GU502 a sleek look. Half of the surface of the lid is smooth, while the other half has a dotted pattern that reflects light beautifully and makes a rainbow effect. There is also a silver Republic of Gamers logo that looks cool when the light hits it just right. When the lid is closed, the speakers and three status lights stick out of the back of the laptop. There are lights for power, battery charge, and hard disc access, going from left to right.
The 15.6-inch, 1080p screen with a 240Hz refresh rate on the Zephyrus M15 GU502 does a good job of showing a wide range of colours, but the screen could be brighter. When I was watching the latest No Time To Die trailer, the pastel pink and purple of the setting sun reflected on the glass of a skyscraper made for a beautiful moment. The picture looks out over a beautiful icy tundra and does a good job of capturing the subtle differences in colour. But it was a little hard to see some of the darker parts of the trailer. Even though the laptop isn’t necessarily dim, many of its rivals are brighter.
