At the time of testing, this bigger tablet from TCL had a 10-inch screen and ran on Android 10. You can get more apps from the Google Play Store, which is included. Used 32GB of storage to test. The only colour for the Tab 10 5G is grey, which gives it a simple but attractive look. Even though the screen’s edges are a bit big, they don’t look out of place.
The back and sides are made of a matte, textured plastic that doesn’t show fingerprints and feels strong in the hand. We like that TCL doesn’t sell a case or any other first-party accessories, so the solid build quality is a plus. The tablet is 9.5 inches tall, 6.2 inches wide, and 0.3 inches thick. It weighs 17.3 ounces, which is normal for a 10-inch screen.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]The Nuu Tab 10 is just a little bit bigger and heavier at 10.3 by 6.0 by 0.4 inches and 18.2 ounces. Button placement feels comfortable. The volume rocker is on the right side, and the power button is on the top edge. The second one is a bit strange in terms of design, but it works fine in practise.
Aside from that, speakers on the top and bottom make stereo sound, and the bottom edge has a SIM/microSD tray and a USB-C charging port. Because it doesn’t have a fingerprint reader or other biometrics, you have to choose between a PIN, a pattern, or your face to unlock it. The resolution of the tablet’s 10.1-inch, 16:10 screen is 1,920 by 1,200 pixels.
We didn’t expect it to look as bright and colourful as it does, and it easily beats the Nuu Tab 10. (10.1 inches, 1,920 by 1,200 pixels). The Tab 10 5G has an IP5X rating and a screen made of Dragontrail glass. We can’t say how Dragontrail glass compares to Gorilla Glass, but the tablet’s IP rating means that it doesn’t let much dust in, even though it’s not waterproof.
The TCL Tab 10 5G offers decent specs for the price. It comes with a MediaTek Kompanio 800T octa-core chip and 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, it has only 32GB of onboard storage. After accounting for system files, you won’t have much space for apps, games, or media files of your own.
The TCL TAB 10s comes with an 8,000 mAh battery that can last up to 8 hours, which it does pretty well. It also works well when turned off. Depending on how much you ask the relatively low specs to handle, that time can go down, but overall, the kids can easily use it for a day. We will also get an 18W power adapter that charges quickly.
