The gaming community has always favoured Razer’s collection of fantastic equipment for esports. The company has continued to improve its core lineup of gaming mice with high-quality sensors and ergonomics in mind, first with the Razer Viper V2 Pro and most recently with the DeathAdder V3 Pro, the newest update to a line that Razer claims has drawn more than 13 million gamers since 2006. The DeathAdder V3 Pro is one for, well, professional gamers, boasting changes both large and small across the board, but we have to wonder if Razer’s gradual improvements are beginning to feel like they’re reaching a ceiling.
A wireless, lightweight gaming mouse that is part of Razer’s DeathAdder portfolio is the DeathAdder V3 Pro. This mouse, like prior iterations, is right-handed and works best with larger hands. This version differs from earlier models in that it is significantly lighter and has a slightly different shape. It has a new sensor, a new generation of optical switches, and improved battery life, among other significant improvements. you will read our article on Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro review.
Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro review: Design
The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is similar to the DeathAdder V2, despite some minor variations that devoted users are likely to detect. The V3 Pro is lighter, thinner, and has fewer buttons than the V2 in addition to having a somewhat lower profile (2.2 ounces vs. 3.1 ounces). The V3 Pro has just four buttons: a left button, a right button, a clickable scroll wheel, and two thumb buttons, as opposed to the DeathAdder V2’s two additional face buttons.
There is a power/DPI button on the mouse’s bottom, which is much more of a hassle than we anticipated. Even while it’s not unheard of, most mice don’t have the same appearance or feel as the DeathAdder V3 Pro. Despite being incredibly lightweight, the device is the same size and shape as a standard gaming mouse. As a result, it appears as though there is absolutely nothing inside the peripheral. The appearance of the mouse does not reflect how it feels. This unusual design choice can be mitigated by changing DPI, so moving the DPI button to the bottom of the mouse seems counterproductive.
Of course, reprogramming the DPI button will need giving up one of the useful face or thumb buttons. Although the DeathAdder V3 Pro’s weight is one of its main selling points, it is also one of its worst flaws. Even when we purposefully reduced the DPI, we never felt like we had adequate control over where the mouse was or where it was heading. Fans of esports may enjoy this, especially as most lightweight mouse are typically much smaller and uncomfortable for players with huge hands. However, a middle-weight mouse or a light mouse with a smaller profile may be more comfortable for general gaming.
Comfort
However, the funds are utilised wisely. All players, even casual ones, of all skill levels experience latency or response lag. Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless connection technology eliminates this issue by reducing the polling period to just 0.25 millisecond. The Deathadder can move across surfaces with the same grace as Natasha Romanov, a.k.a. Blackwidow, thanks to the substantial PTFE skates on the bottom.
Our disgusting habit of not using a mousepad didn’t affect how well the V3 Pro worked on our desk. Razer claims that as long as the glass mouse pads are at least 4mm thick, it will function just as well on them as well. Razer only used the best technology when creating the V3 Pro, a clicker aimed at the top esports professionals. It starts off with the fastest sensor Razer has ever made: the new Focus Pro 30K Optical sensor with a 70G acceleration and a top speed of 750 inches per second for 99.8% accuracy.
Nobody would ever play at such an absurd DPI, but when used in conjunction with a few techniques like Asymmetric cut-off, Motion sync, and Smart tracking, you can never blame the mouse for a loss. The main clickers on the Deathadder are third-generation Razer optical mouse switches, which have a long lifespan of 90 million clicks and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it response time of 0.2ms.
Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro review: Connectivity
The aforementioned USB dongle, also known as the Hyperpolling dongle in Razer lingo, is arguably the largest improvement to the DeathAdder V3 Pro. The default polling rate of the DeathAdder V3 Pro is 1,000Hz, which is the industry standard for wireless gaming mice. This means that the mouse sensor updates its position 1,000 times per second. To a polling rate of 4,000Hz, the Hyperpolling dongle quadruples that. The problem? It is, however, available separately for $29.99 more.
However, the money is effectively used. With Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless connection, the technology reduces the polling period to only 0.25 millisecond, which reduces latency or response lag, a problem that affects all players, even casual ones, at all skill levels.
Software
The DeathAdder V3 Pro performs admirably right out of the box, but Razer’s Synapse software allows you to adjust the mouse’s sensitivity and optimize its lift-off distance. The DeathAdder V3 Pro’s buttons may be remapped using Synapse, and if you’re using a Razer keyboard, the HyperShift shortcut can be used to access secondary bindings for every button. The Power/DPI button on the mouse’s bottom allows you to cycle through the five sensitivity levels that Synapse allows you to set.
Depending on how sensitive you want the mouse to be when you pick it up, Synapse also allows you to adjust the lift off distance of the mouse to low, medium, or high. By turning on “asymmetric cut-off,” which enables you to independently set the lift-off and landing distances, you can also fine-tune this even further. you will check our article on Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro review.
Lighting
You’ll frequently hear us praise Razer in these evaluations for having the best software and lighting available. That’s only true for a portion of the case with this particular option, though. The absence of RGB lighting on this particular DeathAdder model was done to improve battery life, and in all honesty, it isn’t as much of a disappointment as you might think. Without it, the DeathAdder V3 Pro still looks exceptionally sleek, and let’s face it, your hand will probably be blocking the active lighting anyhow.
Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro review: Battery life
The DeathAdder V3 Pro’s battery life is rated by Razer at 90 hours, which is respectable for a low-latency 2.4GHz wireless gaming mouse, especially one that is so light. This estimate appears to be accurate because it took the mouse about 10 days to fall below 10% after we used it consistently for both work and gaming during our testing. The DeathAdder V3 Pro’s battery life is reduced to about 24 hours when used with Razer’s HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, which is understandable.
Performance
The Razer Focus Pro 30K Optical sensor, which is installed in the DeathAdder V3 Pro, has a maximum sensitivity of (you guessed it) 30,000DPI, a tracking speed of 750 IPS, and an acceleration range of up to 70g. The DeathAdder V3 Pro has a 1,000 Hz polling rate with the Razer HyperSpeed 2.4GHz wireless dongle, which can be increased to 4,000 Hz with Razer’s HyperPolling Wireless Dongle.
Although the ultra-high sensitivity of the DeathAdder V3 Pro is interesting to discuss, it is not what makes a fantastic gaming mouse. But what makes the V3 Pro a great gaming mouse are its lightweight, ergonomic body, properly positioned tactile buttons, smooth glide, and adaptable sensor.
The V3 Pro doesn’t appear all that different, so we were initially dubious of Razer’s boasts about the ergonomic makeover. However, we won’t lie the buttons are incredibly tactile and easy to click, and they are situated exactly where we need them to be. Although we didn’t anticipate the extra height of the scroll wheel to have a significant impact on tactility, we adore how simple it is to click. also you will learn our article on Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro review.
The bottom-based DPI switch was something we anticipated being inconvenient. But in all honesty, I find the majority of top-based DPI shifts to be inconvenient. The DPI switch wasn’t at all uncomfortable because the DeathAdder V3 Pro is so portable and simple to hold. The sensor on the mouse is made to function on various surfaces, including glass. The mouse worked on everything (including transparent glass and plastic), with the exception of mirrors, which we tested it on, including mousepads, mirrors, and the side of our French Bulldog.
The V3 Pro does not feature built-in Bluetooth like many wireless mice on the market; instead, it communicates only via 2.4GHz wireless and a USB-C connection. This isn’t necessary a deal-breaker because Bluetooth connections typically have too high of a latency for serious gaming, making Bluetooth in gaming mice more of a luxury than a requirement. The 2.4GHz wireless connection on the V3 Pro is great; we had no latency problems or connectivity drops, not even when the mouse’s battery life dropped to six percent when we were playing Overwatch.
Price and availability
With a price tag of $150, the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is a somewhat pricey mouse. That only applies to the mouse itself, which comes in black or white. The $30 HyperPolling Wireless Dongle is only necessary if the included USB receiver is simply inadequate for your gaming sessions. Still, many people find it difficult to justify spending $180 on a mouse and faster dongle.
Razer acknowledged this and now provides a $165 bundle promotion, saving you $15, if you purchase the mouse and HyperPolling Wireless Dongle together. When comparing the polling rates of the two receivers, the standard dongle can poll at 1,000 Hz, while the HyperPolling dongle can poll at 4,000 Hz. Would you be able to feel the additional speed increase? Not unless your display is quick enough.
Conclusion
A fantastic FPS gaming mouse is the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro. It feels very nicely crafted and is incredibly light. Although the ergonomic, right-handed shape is comfortable, it works best with hands that are larger in size. The sensor is extremely accurate and consistent, the feet glide easily on mousepads and desks, and the click latency is incredibly low. The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is a reliable mouse that builds on an excellent design. It’s a fantastic advancement for the DeathAdder line-up, even though we will miss the dedicated DPI buttons on the top of the mouse. The V2 Pro is almost exactly what fans of the device wanted it to be. The design is reliable, the performance has been improved by the upgraded sensors and switches, and the battery life is outstanding.
